what is wickr?
Wickr is a widget for browsing through photos on Flickr. You can browse by entering tags or by giving a Flickr user's username or email. If you are a Flickr user yourself, you can add and remove your favorite photos; add tags, notes and comments to a photo (depending on the photo's permission). You can also navigate through a user's favorites, contacts, groups and photosets.
Wickr also features a comprehensive slideshow function. There are 4 slideshow modes to choose from:
- Normal: view a single photo at a time.
- Badge: similar to Flickr's flash badge.
- Mosaic: a mosaic of square thumbnails.
- Ticker: thumbnails scroll across the screen.
There are several options to customize the slideshow, plus, the slideshow can be maximized to fullscreen like a screensaver.

quick guide
In order to use Wickr, you need to have the Yahoo! Widget Engine installed on your system. Then, you can download Wickr here.
To search for photos, enter in tags. Each tag should be seperated by a blank space. Tags with multiple words should be in quotes or joined together into one word. For example, the tag new york should be "new york" or newyork. A blank search will give the most recent photos uploaded to Flickr. To view photos from a user, just enter the username or email.
To quickly switch between tag search modes ("any" or "all"), right click on the "search photos" button and choose the option from the context menu. The context menu also contains the option to "show most interesting photos first" which can be turn on or off. Once a search result has been obtained, you can view it as a slideshow by clicking on the "view slideshow" button or just right click on the main window and choose the "view slideshow" option from the context menu. Don't forget to check out the widget's preferences to customize the slideshow and other customization options.
You can also view a user's photostream, favorites, contacts, groups and photosets by clicking on the user's buddy icon.
That should get you started. For more information, please view the screenshots. The notes on the images will guide you on using Wickr. There are also videos showing Wickr in action available on the demo page.
